On Sunday, January 30, 2022, the New York Daily News’ “Justice Story” took a look back at the murders of Detectives Sgt. Francis J. M. Buckley and his partner Detective Sgt. William A. Miller. [In the 1920s, all Detectives also carried the rank of Sergeant.] The partners were shot on January 5, 1922 in front of the 32 Precinct police stationhouse on West 135th Street in Harlem in Manhattan. Miller died the same day, but Buckley hung on until January 6th. Their killed got the electric chair. You can read the “Justice Story” here.
