The DEA has instituted a new optical program for active members.
Davis Vision will be the exclusive optical provider for active DEA members and their dependents.
The new Davis Vision Optical Plan will provide DEA active members with uniformity and a wide selection of "up-to-date" prescription eyewear which will be available at each optical store in the extensive Davis Vision network of independent doctors. Many designer frames for children are available through this plan as well.
The DEA's goal was to deliver a plan that would drastically reduce (or eliminate altogether) the high out-of-pocket cost to our members for an up-to-date pair of glasses, an issue that plagued the previous plan.
The new plan offers a thorough eye exam and a pair of glasses to members and their dependents once every 12 months.
In order to provide additional convenience for our members, eligibility will be determined electronically, thereby eliminating the need for DEA-issued vouchers. The plan also features a one year guarantee for broken frames, and other benefits as well.
