On March 10th, 2003, Undercover Detectives James Nemorin and Rodney J. Andrews, members of the elite Firearms Investigations Unit, were shot and killed on Staten Island during an effort to stop illegal gun trafficking in New York City.

The DEA Widows' and Children's Fund immediately established "The March 10th Undercover Fund" to provide Trust Funds for the future education of the two Andrews and three Nemorin children.
