We’re pleased to offer AFLAC’s "Personal Lifestyle Protector Cancer Plan" and "Personal Accident Expense Plan" to our membership. We highly recommend that you review both of these plans as they may offer significant benefits to you and your family. After September 11, 2001, we became particularly concerned about the ramifications of that devastating event on the future health of our members, and we researched what was available in the way of cancer insurance. Because cancer can be hereditary or may result from other causes, such as exposure to toxins, we negotiated a discounted "Personal Lifestyle Protector Cancer Plan" from AFLAC. About 1.2 million new cases of cancer are diagnosed in the United States each year, and unfortunately, the odds are that one in two men and one in three women will contract some form of cancer in their lifetime. AFLAC’s cancer plan is the finest specified disease policy on the market — one that pays cash benefits directly to policyholders. Additionally, the DEA negotiated a special offer for AFLAC’s "Personal Accident Expense Plan." Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for persons aged one to 34, and the fifth leading cause of death overall. The most common place of injury is at home. So, regardless of how tough it is on the job, you never really know where danger might be lurking. AFLAC’s plan will cover accidents on or off duty and it includes payouts if you are hospitalized overnight. Both of these AFLAC plans are available on an individual or family basis at a discounted rate, and we highly recommend that you consider these policies. If you are an active member, the plans are portable and can be carried with you at retirement. Retired members may also apply for these policies.
